Trick or Treat is a new Halloween-themed feature on the way to MONOPOLY GO. The feature is generally known as Board Raid, it sends you to another player’s board to choose houses, collect treats, and share rewards - with a hidden ghost ready to end your visit.
When does Trick or Treat start?
The current schedule lists these dates:
Starts: September 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern (17:00 UTC).
Ends: November 25, 2026, at 11:59 a.m. Eastern (16:59 UTC).
That is roughly nine weeks, placing it across almost all of the upcoming Monster Mash album season. Its scheduled finish is not identical to the album’s currently listed end time. Check the in-game timer once the feature launches.
How do the five houses work?
The game describes five houses to choose from during a visit. You are looking for treats while trying to avoid the ghost. Here is the flow described in the game text:
Choose who to visit. You can switch friends before choosing a house; selecting that house locks in the friend for that selection.
Pick a house. A successful selection leads to a dice comparison between you and the board owner.
Compare the results. The higher die wins the treat. Matching dice produce a Win-Win, rewarding both players.
Keep collecting until the visit ends. Finding the ghost stops the run, but you keep the treats already earned. Gifts found together are sent to your friend.
A tie is a positive result for both players. The ghost is a separate outcome that ends the visit; it does not wipe out the rewards you already collected.
Can friends send you treats while you are away?
The feature includes an incoming gift inbox and a history of visits. That means receiving treats is part of the experience, as well as visiting other boards.
Some friends may temporarily be unavailable. The game’s messages mention full treat bags and visit limits. If you see one of those messages, follow the explanation shown in-game and try another eligible friend.
How do you enter Trick or Treat?
Board Raid can be triggered from Railroad encounters or a Chance-card.
What rewards and tournament points can you earn?
Like many other features, your roll multiplier will be used to increase rewards. Current tournament configurations also include scoring for successful Trick or Treat house selections, so the feature can contribute to tournament progress when the active tournament supports it.
The exact payout and scoring depend on the event and tournament you receive.

Install the latest game update ahead of September 23.
Make sure the friends you want to visit are already added in MONOPOLY GO.
Read the in-game tutorial when it arrives, especially the gift, visit-limit, and multiplier instructions.
Check the active tournament’s scoring before assuming every successful house earns the same points.
